What is your refund policy?

Only part tuition is refundable with a written request and will be sent to the student within 30 days of the student's withdrawal or termination. A refund will be given based on the cost and length of the program.

• At the completion of less than 50% of the program, 50% of the tuition will be

refunded.

• At the completion of 50% but less than 75% of the program, 25% of the tuition will be

refunded.

• At the completion of 75% or more of the program, no refund is due to the student.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

• Late Cancelation Fee - For Behind the Wheel lessons, there will be a $60 fee for any

cancelations that occur within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson.

• No-Show Lesson Fee - For Behind the Wheel lessons, there will be a $60 fee for each

instance where the student misses a scheduled lesson.

Do I need a permit to sign up for Online or In-Person driver's ed?

NO! you do not need a learner's permit to sign up for the online or in-person lessons. you MUST be 15½. However, you must have your permit before scheduling your first in-car lesson. 

How old do I need to be to start driver's ed?

You must be at least 15.5 by the first day of the driver's ed class.

What if I forgot my username or password?

You can reset your username or password on our website by clicking the "Forgot your Username or Password?" link on
the login page.

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, Discover card, American Express, Check or Cash.

Additional charges  may apply for using cards but net tuition is paid using cash or check

Do you offer payment plans?

Depending on the package that you choose, you can make a deposit but must complete the tuition before scheduling for your first in-cars

What if I miss an in-person class?

You have two options. Either make it up for the next session when the class is offered again at no cost. Or pay $50 for one-on-one make up sessions.

I am 18 and want to take teen drivers ed?

If they just turned 18 we will still allow them to sign up for a teen package. If they are over 18, they need to enroll in our adult program.

 

I am an international student. How do I get my driver license

The state of Ohio required that all international students or immigrants with their TEMPS marked Nonrefundable/ Nontransferable are required to enroll in our 24 hours driver Ed, complete  8 hours of behind the wheel drives with a licensed instructor, and also complete 50 hours of driving with a licensed driver over 21 years of age. 10 of these hours must be completed at night. How long do I have to complete my driver's ed?

You have 6 months to complete your online course. You have an additional 6 months to complete your drives. If you are an in class student you have 6 months from the date of your first class to do both the classroom and drives.

Does the classroom have to be completed to start behind-the-wheel lessons?

Yes. Once you have completed the class and have your permit, you can schedule your driving lessons through our
website.

How do I upload my permit or online certificate?

When you signed up you would have received sign-on information to your student portal. Within the Student Portal is where you upload those documents. If you can't access it or have forgotten the password we can reset it and send new sign-on information. If it is easier you can email those documents to gerlietteskills@gmail.com and we can do it for you.

I submitted my permit online, but it isn't showing up in my student portal?

 We have to "activate" every file that is uploaded to ensure there are no quality issues. If there is an issue we will contact you. If you have just uploaded something check back later in the day or the next day.

Do you notarize the 50 hour affidavits?

Yes we do notarize for $5 fee

Does the 50 hours need to be done before they can schedule drives with an instructor?

 No this does not have to be completed prior to working with our instructors. However, the more time BTW a student has, the more effective your child's time will be with our instructors.

How do i get my certificate?

Once all drives are completed we issue certificates within 3 business days. When they are issued a copy is put in the students portal as well as emailed to all email addresses on file. If you need it sooner, always call the office and we will make sure you have it when it's needed.

How long is my certificate good for?

All DT certificates are good until the student turns 22 years old.

BEHIND-THE-WHEEL

Do you have some places where we can practice maneuverability?

Yes you can practice at our location. This needs to be scheduled to ensure the cones are put out for you since we do not leave them outside 24/7. When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?


You can start driving lessons anytime with a valid learner permit or driver's license. You can schedule driving lessons on our website once registered and paid in full. If you are under 21 or Ohio Limited Term, you must complete the driver's ed class before starting
behind-the-wheel lessons.

Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?

Yes! we do pick-up and drop-off at home within 10 miles from our location. Our instructors are very flexible. They can pick you up from home and drop-off at your high school early mornings or from your high school to home after school. If you live over 10 minutes from our location, you will need to drive to our location for your drives. Special negotiation can be made for a pickup and drop-off  fee 

Can I request a specific driving instructor?

Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. If your preferred instructor is
open, you can select them for a lesson.

Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?

Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. You may choose the same instructor for each lesson if they are open or try a different instructor.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my driving lesson?

Should you need to reschedule a lesson, you may do so by logging into your account on our website. You must cancel or
reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $60 late cancellation fee.

Will I have other students in the car with me?

No. 

Can I request to have lessons with a friend?

No! You are not allowed to drive with a friend

Are your instructors licensed?

Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the state to teach classroom and behind-the-wheel training to all age groups.

Can I use my own car?

No, our vehicles have safety features (passenger brake, passenger mirror, student driver signs, etc.) that don't come in
standard cars.

Can I schedule drives when my son is almost done with his online course?

No. The course must be completed and we must have a copy of the certificate and permit before we schedule those. 

Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?

No, you are covered under our commercial insurance during all behind-the-wheel training.

How do I schedule a behind-the-wheel lesson?

Log in to your student account on our website. Choose an available time and your preferred instructor.

How fast can I complete behind-the-wheel lessons?

This depends on your scheduling flexibility and instructor availability. You can take one 2-hour behind-the-wheel lesson
each day and schedule up to Four driving lessons in advance if you have completed your tuition. 

What safety equipment are your cars equipped with?

Our vehicles have safety features (passenger brake, passenger mirror, student driver signs, etc.) that don't come in
standard cars.

How long is your waitlist for drives?

Depending on your students availability we are about 2-4 weeks out in scheduling.

 

 

Can we use your vehicle to take the test at BMV?

Yes! The cost to do that is $115 and includes 1 hour use of the vehicle with an instructor. The exam should be scheduled in Summit County, which allows at least 40 minutes of practice with an instructor prior to taking the drivers exam at BMV.

When can I schedule my exam at the BMV?

We are required to tell you that you may not schedule your exam until you have a certificate in hand from us. However, most students schedule their exam to be a week or so after their last drive with us. 

What happens if I forget my permit but have a picture on my phone?

The drive with the instructor can not be completed and you will be charged a cancellation fee of $60.

What do i need to take with me when i take my exam?

You need to take your permit, 50 hour affidavit and your certificate from us. Where can i find a 50 hour affidavit. We email you a copy of it along with your certificate when you complete your hours with us.
